BIG Appreciation Month | Day 5 of 28

Sugar,

Spice,

& Everything Nice

There is a soft spot in my heart for doughnuts (okay, okay... there may be a soft spot in my stomach too). I can still remember my amazement of watching doughnuts going down the production line at Krispy Kreme on Center Street. When I was 7 or 8 I could watch for hours as those doughnuts go up and down the doughnut elevators only to be fried and eventually drenched in a waterfall of icing. The point is, I love doughnuts and I love what they do to bring people together. Doughnuts are meant to be shared, that's why we buy them in dozens (and dozens, and dozens, and dozens) and there are no better doughnuts than the ones at Auntie Ruth's Doughnuts.

The Biggest Doughnuts I Have Ever Seen!

Auntie Ruth’s serves some of the largest doughnuts I have ever had the pleasure of viewing (and subsequently eating). What makes them so great isn’t the size, it’s the fluffy dough and the unique icing. You may not recognize the icing at first glance as it is thicker and the color is a bit darker than other doughnut companies, but let me just say, it is the best icing I have ever tasted. That isn’t all Auntie Ruth’s serves, they also have an assortment of soft pretzels that I hear are amazing (though I have not had them myself). After you eat all of that you can wash it down with fresh lemonade and sweet tea. If all of this weren’t enough, they have some great service and great people manning the food truck. I have called to talk with their staff twice and each time they have been so nice and kindhearted.

Auntie Ruth’s Doughnuts are served from their food truck that travels the region. Be sure to check their Facebook page to see where they will be serving next. If you appreciate their great food and the comradery that a dozen (or two) doughnuts afford, then let them know by reaching out at the link provided.
